Wedding Venues I Recommend.
I have been filming wedding videos for nearly ten years now and in this time I have had the opportunity to film at many wedding venues.
Â
Drawing on my experience I have compiled a list of wedding venues I like to film at. I find my favorite wedding venues tend to be those that offer an all inclusive experience. That is those venues that have a beautiful spot for the Bride to prepare, a lovely ceremony location and a reception venue. It is also very handy it the venue has beautiful surroundings so that we do not need to travel far for the glamor shoot (photoshoot).
Â
With these points in mind below are some beautiful wedding locations within 2 hours of Brisbane.
Â
Gabbinbar Homestead – Toowoomba
Â
This would have to be my favorite location. The homestead is a historical landmark with over 150 years of history. The gardens are meticulously maintained and always lush throughout the year.
There is a bridal retreat that is luxurious and photographs wonderfully. it has beautiful natural light which floods in during the morning.
Â
Gabbinbar Homestead also offers three different ceremony location, with one being under cover. You can choose to be married under the large fig tree, which looks stunning. There is also the Old Gate area that has lovely dappled afternoon light filtering down through the foliage. And as a wet weather option there is also a large gazebo.
Â
The level of service at Gabbinbar Homestead is second to none. All the staff are carefully picked and have a great work ethic. They will bend over backwards to make sure your wedding day is one to remember.
Â
The beautiful gardens and old buildings around the property makes Gabbinbar Homestead a true all in one venue. There is no need to leave the property for photography as Gabbinbar offers many gorgeous location for many different styles.
Â
Once the sun goes down, Gabbinbar Homestead lights up like a stunning jewel. The gardens too light up to reveal a beautiful wonderland. This also give many opportunities for an inspirational night photoshoot.
Â
The receptions at Gabbinbar Homestead seat about 120 guests in a stunning glass ceiling conservatorium. This can be set up to provide a dazzling fireworks fountain display for your entrance or cake cutting.
Â
During the winter months the are two classically themed rooms that offer fire places and cosy seating. These provide areas for your guest to break away and mingle in smaller groups.
Â
There is a classical piano on site that can be used by musicians to entertain your guests. As well as a dance hall to boogie the night away.
Glengariff Historic Estate – Dayboro
Â
Glengariff has one of the most stunning outdoors ceremony locations I have ever seen. It has a vast expansive vista looking out across rolling hills and valleys. Glengariff itself is looks like a jewel set into the side of the hill. The grounds are meticulously maintained and offer many onsite photography location. The afternoon sunset that Glengariff get is awe inspiring. And with the many lovely sculpted landscaped areas around the venue you’ll surely get many stunning wedding photos.
Â
At night Glengariff lights up and is stunning to see. It makes a beautiful back drop for your first dance out on the lawn.
Â
Glengariff is only a 40min drive outside of Brisbane and would be an easy day trip for many of your guests.
The Old Dairy  –  Maleny
A new venue that I recently discovered is the Old Dairy in Maleny.
The Old Dairy is nestled in the mountains in the Sunshine Coast hinterlands overlooking the Glass House Mountains. The Old Dairy offers a wide opens space with a beautiful viewing deck for an out doors ceremony. There are two small cottages on site which are ideal for both Bride and Groom preparations. I’m not sure of the reception capacity but it would be suitable for a small to medium sized wedding. There is plenty of space for a marquee to be set up for larger wedding receptions.
Being located in Maleny if is close by to many of the iconic photo shoot locations.
Â
This venue seems to offer a modern commercial kitchen so you can hire your own catering crew.
